Nile Banks Pharmaceutical Company participated in sponsoring the conference on patient safety: between reality and aspiration, as the company has been one of the pioneers in community service and supporting conferences aimed at raising public awareness and advancing it to the highest level of health consciousness.

Successful Conclusion of the Patient Safety Conference

The international conference on patient safety concluded successfully this Monday evening in the city of Mukalla. The conference, organized by the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at the University of the Arabs, took place over three days and discussed topics related to diagnostic safety in professional practice, patient safety, promoting trusted concepts of professional activities to ensure safe and high-quality healthcare, and integrating patient safety into the curricula of medical schools and health institutes.

Experts and medical professionals participating in the conference, both from within Yemen and from 10 countries in the Americas, Europe, Southeast Asia, and Arab countries, shared their experiences in this field. They presented research and studies on what should be followed to ensure the safety of patients and healthcare workers in healthcare facilities.

At the conclusion of the conference, Professor Ali Mohammed Ba'Tarafi expressed his gratitude to all the participants and thanked the doctors and academics from Aden, Shabwa, Seiyun, Al-Mahra, Socotra, and from abroad via video conference, emphasizing that the goal is to benefit and spread the concepts that enhance patient safety.

Professor Ba'Tarafi also announced the third international conference for the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at the University of the Arabs, focused on medical education, which is expected to be held in late July of the coming year.

The Minister of Public Health and Population, Professor Dr. Qasem Mohammed Baheebah, attended the opening of the conference and part of its scientific sessions. He described the event as a product of the successful experiences that characterize Hadramaut.

The Minister praised the University of the Arabs and its College of Medicine for hosting a conference on patient safety, which is a fundamental pillar of quality accreditation. He noted that his ministry would be one of the main sectors benefiting from the outcomes of this conference and called for strengthening community participation, emphasizing the importance of universities and educational institutions in quality and safety aspects, and working to update their curricula and programs to keep pace with this.
